An Overview of the Photocatalytic Water Splitting over Suspended Particles

The conversion of solar to chemical energy is one the central processes considered in emerging renewable economy. Hydrogen production from water splitting over particulate semiconductor catalysts has often been proposed as a simple and cost-effective method for large-scale production. In this review, we summarize basic concepts overall (in absence sacrificial agents) using photocatalysts, with focus on their synthetic methods role so-called “co-catalysts”. Then, then given improving light absorption which Z-scheme concept system efficiency are discussed.
